I started observing
teacher in the first week were in PNU-ITL (Philippine Normal University –
Institute Teaching and Learning) and the second week were in MASCI (Manila
Science High School). I found some different and identical teaching strategies
of teacher in Philippine. Prior I went to Philippine I don’t even know how to
handle the class and scared because I thought Philippine and Indonesia have a
lot of difference. But day by day I have a lot of experiences and knowledge how
to become a good teacher. Firstly, in Philippine elementary started at grade 1
to grade 6 and then high school started at grade 7 to grade 10 and senior high
school for grade 11 and grade 12.
First week in PNU-ITL i
observes in Ma’am Festin’s were teaching Science in high school section 7 to 8
am in grade 7 and 12.30 to 1.30 pm at grade 6 because PNU-ITL is under
government and I went there in January so its fourth quarter and applying
integrated science, so the lesson is science earth. Here I attached the proposed
sequence of domain/ strands per Quarter:
Grade 7

what can I summarize
from the observation are:
- Students in Philippine must be attended the class before 7 am and finished their classes around 5 pm. Noon break at 12 am to 1 pm.
- One lesson in Philippine only one hour, which mean if the first lesson is chemistry so they will study chemistry for one hours.
- If you are a learner, then your course is example chemistry and you have 4 classes in a day, it called section.
- First section means your first hour in chemistry at grade 10- faraday
- Second section means your second hour in chemistry 10-copernicus, etc.
- Student have required classes and elective classes.
- Students only given guide questions to find out what lesson will be taught on due day. As students are the central, all implementation must involve students.
